About Us
Located in Cincinnati, Game Day Communications was founded in 2002 by former ESPN Anchor Betsy Ross as a public relations firm specializing in sports and entertainment.
Betsy Ross [ email ] , President of Game Day Communications, has over 20 years experience as a sports and news anchor. One of the first women to break into national sports news, Ross worked as an anchor at ESPN for the past five years. Before anchoring SportsCenter and ESPN News, Ross worked at NBC News Channel and Cincinnati’s NBC affiliate, WLWT-TV, for seven years, where she covered the 1996 Presidential Election and Inauguration and the 1996 Atlanta Games. She continues to be involved in sports broadcast as the voice for the Cincinnati Bengals Stadium, play-by-play anchor for ESPN, Conference USA and Atlantic-10 Women’s Basketball and as a sports reporter for Cincinnati’s FOX 19 and Bengals Weekly.
Ross is active in the community serving on the boards of the Wellness Community, Special Olympics, March of Dimes and the Ronald McDonald House. She also teaches a master’s level course, Sports PR, at Xavier University.
Jackie Reau [ email ] , Chief Operating Officer, has over decade of experience in marketing and public relations management. Most notably, Reau served as director of marketing and public relations at the Cincinnati Art Museum working with international, national and local media. She has coordinated national press trips to New York and England, and has earned stories in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, and has also worked on crisis situations with 60 Minutes, Time Magazine and Good Morning America, CBS Saturday Morning and the Today Show. Prior to the Museum, Reau was a public relations counselor at The Christ Hospital and Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati. In 2001, she completed the Harvard Business School’s program, “Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management.”
She is active in the community serving on the boards of Enjoy the Arts, Dress for Success and the National Arts Marketing Project-Cincinnati. She is a member of Public Relations Society of America and Ohio University National Alumni Board.
John Cappella [ email ] , Special Projects Manager for Game Day Communications, began working with Game Day in January 2004. Cappella most recently managed the Cincinnati Reds Rookie Success League, a character building baseball league for youth in Cincinnati. He is a graduate of Miami University and earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Xavier University.
Erin Loudner Emerson [ email ] , Event Director for Game Day Communications, has over 10 years experience in the event and meeting field. She has focused on site selection, food and beverage management, hotel negotiation, corporate meetings, seminars, expositions, and festival & event production. Erin has worked as a consultant for The Flying Pig Marathon for five years, coordinating 6 different events surrounding the week of the marathon. Erin also consults with the Greater Cincinnati Tall Stacks Commission and MEMI, as well as plans and manages events for some of Cincinnati’s largest corporations. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
Stephanie Mileham [ email ] , Stephanie Mileham – Events Marketing Manager, brings over eight years of marketing, promotions, special event planning, sales and community relations experience to Game Day Communications. Prior to joining Game Day, Mileham has worked with the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department, the Cincinnati Bengals and Clear Channel Radio. She also tapped into the non-profit sector while working most recently with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mileham is not only working with Game Day Communications but is also currently working with the Flying Pig Marathon as their Marketing Coordinator. She is a graduate of Ohio University – home of the Bobcats.
Tom McGill [ email ] , Tom joins Game Day as Director of Marketing Partnerships after a 27-year career in banking, most recently as the Director of Marketing at Provident Bank. In addition to his tenure in the marketing department, Tom spent many years working in Provident’s Retail Banking group where he served in a number of management roles. Tom brings an analytical focus to marketing with a strong penchant for quantification of benefits. In addition to his work at Provident, Tom worked with a number of non-profit organizations including the Free Store/Food Bank, the Marvin Lewis Community Fund, and the Anthony Munoz Foundation. Tom currently serves as the President of the Turpin Athletic Boosters and is also a volunteer assistant coach for the girls’ fastpitch softball team at Turpin.
